What to expect at St. Bernard’s:
Located in the hills of South Tulsa on 101st street, St. Bernard’s offers organizations and religious formation for all ages. It is east of Jenks Middle School and west of Yale. Families basically are either in the Jenks or Union School Districts, however there are parishioners from many areas of Tulsa County including Bixby, Broken Arrow, and Glenpool. Many parishioners send their kids to private schools including Bishop Kelley High School. We also have several parishioners that are involved in homechooling. The organizations at St. Bernard’s promote learning, service, spirituality and ministry for all ages. The beautiful Good Shepherd Chapel provides quiet Adoration with Jesus during the week. The Marian Chapel, at the back of the church, also houses a columbarium.
Accessibility:
The church offices are located on the “E” level or the 1st floor. Handicap parking is on the West Side of the church and provides one level access to the main church. Elevators can be accessed from that level to get to the office level, the Good Shepherd Chapel, and other floors of the church. The handicap parking on the south side of the church provides single level access to the church and the Marian Chapel/columbarium and gym.
What to wear:
People attend Mass in casual to business wear clothing.
I have children:
We have a preschool for children ages 2 up to Kindergarten. A nursery is provided for children 4 and under during the 8:30AM and 11:15AM Masses on Sundays. Space is limited.
Contributions:
St. Bernard's is a tithing parish. Your regular contributions can be made online or dropped in the collection basket at Mass. Special collections are held throughout the year for other Catholic organizations.
